When you do a lot of home automation, programming, and electronics projects, you will inevitably stumble upon things that require you to learn a little bit of Linux.

Learning Linux will help you with many different home automation projects.

For instance, most Raspberry Pi projects require you to use Linux. If you want to run an MQTT server you should consider running it on Linux. Home Assistant runs best on Linux.
