I saw a butterfly AND a dragonfly today. If this is what global warming is about then bring it on. Just kidding, I know it can have catastrophic consequences, but it sure would be nice to garden all year long. If I never saw snow again I'd be happy, and the 22° nights that freeze our pipes are not welcome either..

Freezing nights are supposed to help keep the insect population under control. It kills the aphids but so does a spray bottle with soapy water in it..

I found a dead bumblebee in the garden today, and they are so good looking, that I picked it up and put it on a shelf in the greenhouse. I'll get to see a bumblebee all winter long. I can't leave dead dragonflies laying on the ground either. They might get stepped on. I used to bring them home and pin them to a wall where they wouldn't bother anybody, but apparently insects pinned to the wall is not appreciated by everyone..

If I left them on a surface top they would eventually end up on the floor with a broken wing. I could throw them away then. I think I'll put the next one on the shelf in the greenhouse next to the bumblebee..
