The November planted garlic has been dug up and drying in the shade for two weeks, so it's time to cut the stems off about an inch from the bulb and put the bulbs in a mesh bag for long term storage. I dug them up with a short handled pitchfork that my son got me to save my back. I am constantly reminded of how working on your knees relieves back pain..

I now have a nice fluffy soiled spot to start the Fall broccoli and cauliflower seeds. Now's a good time, but I'll have to go find two more boards..
