I Can't Tell Spinach From Chard Anymore

Well I did it again. I had to go look in the fridge to see if the spinach or the chard bag was gone. I couldn't tell which we had eaten. Not only do they taste the same this spring, but I realized that I'm fooling myself by shredding the chard leaves before I bag them, and discarding all the stems that are over a quarter inch. They both now look the same when they are cooked..

I should try switching the bags and see if the cook notices. I also inadvertently covered one row of beets with coarse compost. I realized what I had done before covering the second row so I switched to fine compost. Now I'll get to test the notion that seeds like close contact with soil in order to germinate..
