J5

WARNING: J5 has high voltage present.
J5 is what is known as a header connector. It's purpose is not 100% understood yet, but we do know that it connects to the PIC processor, and it has +5V and Gnd available. If you need more info, please see this page. Headers are usually used for 2 things:
- It could be a debug port, used during product development, and simply left in place after the final product was released.
- It could be used for programming the firmware into the CPU at the factory.
- It could be used for both 1 and 2.
We are currently testing J5's utility to Insteon hardware hacking and will post more info as we get it.
If you learn anything about this header, please visit the forum and share.
