How To Determine What you Pay for Electricity Using your Power Bill
Method #3 - Using State Averages

This guide is intended to help you guess how much your power costs based on published state averages. If you are looking for a more accurate method, we have 3 different guides to choose from listed here.

If you are unsure what a kilowatt hour is, then you may want to read What is A Kilowatt Hour first.

These averages should help you to guess how much power costs in your state. We live in Oregon, and based on the other two methods listed on this site our power costs us 0.08 per kilowatt hour. In this table Oregon is listed as 0.07 per kilowatt hour. Your mileage may vary.

Keep in mind that if you are doing this in US Dollars, then 0.08 is 8 cents.
